The Hunt for the Perfect Show Shirt (Part Two): EGO7 Mesh Competition Shirt

Part two continues on the hunt for the perfect show shirt. We embarked on the second part of our quest to review the EGO7 Women's Mesh Show Shirt. This top is sophisticated for the show ring, but offers technical comfort for daily training rides, making this shirt both versatile and fashionable. The fabric is incredibly travel-friendly, perfect to throw in a suitcase or overnight bag for horse shows.

Technical Design: A

One of the key features of this shirt is the color-block design with dual combination fabrics. We love that the top half is a 1/4 zip, making the conversion to stepping into the ring as easy as a quick zip up of the shirt. The breathable mesh on top and poplin white collar with EGO7 embroidered logo make it perfect for layering under a jacket. The color-block bottom is 100% jersey made in Italy. The bottom half of this shirt is stain resistant, and the darker color eliminates the see thru concerns of many show shirts. The fabric has great performance features including quick-drying, odor control, UV protection and anti-wrinkle properties.

Sizing and Fit: A-

The shirt is offered in multiple sizes, but we did find that the arm holes are very fitted. We would recommend sizing up a size if you have larger arms.

Durability: A-

We really appreciated that this fabric retains its shape after washing. We did notice that the white portion of this shirt, after multiple washes, is difficult to keep bright white. However, this is a common trend among white show shirts and did not deter us from buying it in multiple colors!

Styling: A

This shirt has become somewhat ubiquitous on the show scene, for all of the great reasons we described. We appreciate the thoughtful design features that make this shirt a great wardrobe staple to use every day or at the show.
